My latest works ( 2023) are borrowed from a visual anchor reminding us of a quest for identity balance. One that resides as much in the intermediate silences as in the moments that specify our purpose.
The eleven black lines invite us to this balance by their equal vertical placement, and repetition. The eleventh line not only points to the attention of our own imbalance, initiating a call back to our quest, but also has the role of mirroring two equal parts, reflecting our own person in its form. The choice of a matte black denies our reflection, calling to deepen this pursuit for balance and meaning.
